Working together 2 make a difference

Educators working collaboratively

A thousand flaming, burning words
Float through the air like scarlet birds
To settle as Autumn and burn soft marks
On those who gazed in wonder's hearts
And swear the words, 'Till death do us part'

A thousand launches, a thousand cries
A thousand pilots in the skies
For all the world to see
In young hearts there is a yearning
Is a burning
As they toil through growth and learning
'Some day that will be me!'
And go, the seasons, turning

A dream takes flight on splendid wings
No fantasy of gaudy things
A calling, a destiny, a song till now unheard
To fly away with scorching words
And over all the world to sail
Leaving hearts all touched and broken
Beautifully broken
By the flaming tale

Guess what I want to be when I grow up! :)

There is something about the line:

"In young hearts there is a yearning" that simply rings so very true. I feel that it is important to stoke that fire for as long as possible.

Thanks for sharing!

Good on you Erik. I bet your parents are appreciative of all you are doing at home. Perhaps you can build on this and continue to do some of those things, like making your bed. I think you're off to a great start. : )

Reminds me of Shel Silverstein's the giving tree, I also really enjoyed the abrupt imagery that you created.

Your last line is unexpected--wow. This could be speaking to so much more than trees, too.

Five devastating words: Just to be Cut Down Trees are a magnificent, important and irreplaceable part of nature. They don't grow to be cut down, not in the wonderful wild forests we should protect but aren't. This poem has a real message, thank yo...
