Great work Glenn! I will be sharing your post with my students tomorrow. They would be very interested in hearing what students from the other side of the world are doing to contribute.

What wonderful sentiments from our Yr 5 students. I can't wait to meet you all when I visit your classroom tomorrow to talk to you about the wonderful contribution you have made. This is the start of something great Yr 5 - I can feel it!

I second that motion. I'm planning to blog a bit about the collective efforts of students and teachers that are being reflected in this community. Can't wait to hear what you all accomplish.

Inspiring achievements

The Bushfire Appeal Fair was a huge success. Not only because the children were able to raise over $2700, but also because of what they were able achieve by working together, with all members of the school community, for selfless cause. Toorak Junior School launches into the Bushfire Appeal

On Thursday 19th our Junior School children are doing their best to Make A Difference by organising, funding and holding their own Bushfire Appeal Fair, with all proceeds being dontated to help the victims of the the recent Victorian Bushfires. The overwhelming flood of support the children wanted to show has lead to this fantastic event, and I look forward to posting some of the reflections from my year 5 class.

Over the weekend, I had a very long conversation with someone I love about the wars that have been waged over religion. It was suggested that no wars are ever truly about this but that religious differences always provide a convenient cover story ...

I love the last line. Shakespeare often wrote about immortalization through verse in his sonnets and this is what I am reminded of in the last stanza. The Global Poetry Project has just welcomed another genius. Please continue to share your poetry...

I love the second stanza. While standing for and hoping for are both essential at different times, it all boils down to being proactive or reactive. This poem has captured a universal human instance. The direct address left me feeling uncomfortabl...
