When Rob Currin contacted me a few weeks back eager to begin connecting himself and his students to a global community of writers, my first thought was to send him this way. I first met Rob in a workshop that I was leading around establishing personal learning networks almost a year ago. I was inspired by his enthusiasm and his energy, and it's been an honor to support him as he's begun this work in various ways. We've been collaborating around how he might align the work of his Global Poetry Project to the mission of WT2MAD community over the last few weeks, and we're excited about what has evolved!
I hope you will all visit the Global Poetry Project, participate, and invite other writers that you know to take part as well. We plan to publish an anthology of whatever emerges from this work and use the proceeds from the sale of it to raise funds for a worthy cause. How will we determine what that cause might be? We're going to ask everyone here to help us out with that. So please begin considering which causes and organizations might be a good fit and share them in the comments here. In time, we may put a survey together as well.
